この仕事を始め、仕事にコンピューターが道具として入ってくるまで、触ったことも所持したこともなく。こんな輩ですから最初に触ったコンピューターは Macで、Windowsは敷居が高くあまり触ったことがありませんでしたし、現在でもそうです。日本時間で今日9月10日午前2時からサンフランシスコでアップルのイベント「Let's Rock」が始まり、新製品などの発表があり、新しいiPodや楽曲管理のiTuneなどが発表されました。
通勤中や休日に音楽を聴いたり、Podcastを見たりとiPodユーザーなもので早速アップデートして使ってみました。新しい機能としては今まであったパ−ティーシャッフルの他に、Geniusが追加され、今聴きたい曲はこんな感じと選ぶと、iTuneに登録されている似た感じの曲がチョイスされ、続けて聞いていけるというユーザーオリエンテッドな機能です。
今までのシャッフルは、例えば自分が好きで購入したCDや、iTuneから購入した曲など、自分というフィルターを通った曲が納められたデーターベースから、ランダムに曲を掛けると言った機能でしたが、基本的に自分の好きな曲がランダムに掛かるけど、その時の気分を反映したリストではなかったわけです。
・・・今は軽いポップスを聴きたいんだけれども、ヘビーなブルースはちょっと・・・。な気分の時など重宝しますね、しかも余計なことに、あなたが聞きたいこんな曲ですが、データーベースには入っていないこんな曲が、iTune Music Storeに揃っていますよ。って、ウィンドウの右側に羅列されるんです。余計なお世話ですね、またこんなモノまで買って。と奥さんに叱られてしまいそうで。
Windowsパソコンのように、OSの仕様に合わせ様々なパーツを組み合わせ、Top Down形式ではなく水平思考で協業していくビジネスは、リスクも分散されますし情報も比較的オープンで、企業としてあるべき姿なのかもしれませんが、一人のカリスマ的経営者が指揮を執り、ハードからソフトまで一貫して提供する企業の方が、今までになかったアイデアを新しいビジネスに繋げる事には、長けているのでしょうね。
人が欲しいと思った時に何のストレスもなく物を購入できる、潜在的な欲求はあったものの、たまたま忘れていた物を目の前に「有りますよ」と差し出す。ハードとソフトそれにWebまでをインテグレートさせたマーケティングは、参考にすべきところが沢山ありそうです。
デメリットとも、とても沢山あるのでしょうが、です。
