1：広報活動の基礎知識
1.企業も一社会市民です
1970年代前半頃までだったでしょうか、企業の作り出す製品・サービスに於いて、社会に対してそれほど大きな影響を与える物は有りませんでした。70年後半にはいると雑誌と言ったサブカルチャーが大きな発言を持ち、その波に乗った企業の製品・サービスなどが、社会現象とも言えるほど、企業が社会に対し影響力を持つようになり、商品と向き合っていたユーザーが、商品の背景にある企業というブランドと、向き合うようになったのもこの頃からでしょう。
この様な事から顧客であるユーザーが、向き合う企業を正確に理解し、良い企業と判断してもらうために、正確な企業情報を伝えるため「社会に対し隠し事のない、透明性の高い企業」「コンプライアンス遵守の高い企業」であることが必要とされるようになってきました。
つまり「良い商品・サービスを提供する企業」だけではなく「ユーザーや社会に対し信頼性がある企業」と言った企業体質までをも、購入する際に判断基準としているのです。この企業の信頼感は、ただ黙って仕事をし、製品を作り、販売していくだけではなかなか認めてもらえる物ではなく、企業側から積極的に知ってもらえるよう働きかけ、「良い企業」「良い隣人」として認知され、理解者・ファンを増やす事が、企業の発展に繋がると言えます。
この事から、企業は社会の一員としての責任を遂行し、社会の要請に的確に応えると共に、積極的に方針や活動などの情報を発信すると言ったCSRに重きを置く企業が増えてきました。
2.広報活動は「社会との対話」が基本です
「広報活動」と聞くと、情報発信というイメージで捕らえられがちですが、社会との信頼関係を築くには、一方通行な情報発信だけでは築くことができません。
1：話す・聞くがセットになって初めて広報活動です
社会の人々が企業に期待するものは、時の流れと共に変化していきます。例えば自動車で言えば、以前は「スピード」「故障の少なさ」「安さ」で満足していたお客様も、「環境に対する性能」や「安全性」などを求めるように変化してきました。このように変化する要望や意見を的確に把握し、企業の経営理念や方針、営業活動に反映させなければ、お客様だけではなく社会の人々は納得してくれません。
そのためにも外部への情報発信ばかりに力を入れるのではなく、外部の情報を内部に確実に伝えて検討する「コミュニケーション」機能を持たなければなりません。一方的な自己主張ばかりではなく、知るための努力を払い、それを経営に生かしていく姿勢が必要なのです。「コミュニケーション」が継続して行われる事から社会との信頼関係は生まれます。
2：うそをつかない
これはもう、表記するよりも、先にニュースになった食肉偽装問題や、有名料亭での使い回しが告発され、責任者がついた嘘で、その後企業がどうなったかを見れば、企業側としてどうすべきかは、理解できると思います。
