3.電話による取材
1）相手を確認し、広報課へ連絡
報道機関から直接電話で取材依頼が入ったら、その場ですぐに応じる事は避け、まず取材内容と報道機関名・記者の氏名・所属・連絡先（電話番号）を確認し、折り返し広報課から連絡する事を理解してもらい、一度電話を切ります。広報課や関連部署と連絡を取り、対応を協議した上で報道機関へ折り返し連絡するようにしてください。
2）たらい回し厳禁
担当者が不在だったり、他のセクションへ引き継ぐ場合などで電話の“たらい回し”は、日頃の顧客への対応態度と同等と思われ、記者の心証を害するばかりか、企業の対外的な対応が不十分との印象を与えてしますので、絶対に避けなければいけません。
3）出来るだけ面談取材で
電話での口頭によるやり取りは、人名や数字など、取材内容が複雑で立ち入った事柄の場合、間違いや誤解を招くおそれがありますので、電話による取材は極力避け、面談による取材にしていただけるよう心がけましょう。
4）コメント取材には考えをまとめてから
コメント取材とは、関連業界などで社会的に大きな事件・事故などの大きなニュースが発生した時に、それに対する反響を取るために、業界を代表する意見を求められ、「この件に関して○○氏は××と述べています」と言った形で掲載される記事です。
どちらかというと記者の社会観にもよるでしょうが、一部世論を補足するための記事に使われたり、記者の意図とする方向にバイアスが掛けられたり、増長させるようオーバーに書かれたりする事があります。このためコメント取材の場合、発生した事件や問題を良く把握し、発言内容をロジカルに整理し、頭に入れてから明確に話しましょう。考えをまとめきれずに曖昧な発言になった場合、伝えようと思った事と異なるコメントとして使われる可能性もあります。もしその場で考えがまとまらない場合「○分後にこちらから電話します」と言って、考えをまとめてから発言します。
5）微妙なコメント取材の場合、記事内容を確認します
マスメディアの発信するニュースにしても、扱いの大きさ・紙面の都合で文字数などは限られており、コメントはこの都合により整理した言葉の表現になりやすく、伝えようとしたニュアンスと大きく変わってしまう事があります。この事からコメントする際に十分注意を払い、間違われそうな微妙なコメントの場合は、記者にコメント記事が出来た際、電話で読み上げてもらうように依頼し、自分の考えにあった表現かを確認する事も必要です。
