昔話
私は今現在、趣味としてクルマやバイクが好きです。
バイクは数年前に一度乗る事を止めましたけれど、クルマでもツーリングで美味しいモノを食べに行ったり、同じような家族同士で旅行に行ったり。
中学の頃でしたかスーパーカーブームがあり、一時排ガス規制で落ち込んだ日本の自動車メーカーも、ちょうどその頃を境に世界的に巻き起こった環境問題から、ドメスティック企業からグローバル企業へと変換を迎えた時期でもありました。
もちろんモータースポーツも好きでしたが、サーキットに行くほどの熱い気持ちもなく、雑誌やテレビで見るだけの物でしたが、人づてで回ってきたHONDAのお仕事で「行くならF1のチケット手にはいるよ」と誘っていただき、フジテレビで放映もされ人気も高く、HONDAが破竹の勢いで勝ち続けたF1参戦第2期を休止した翌年。
セナとシューマッハが鈴鹿で最後に対決した1993年、初めて三重県の鈴鹿サーキットへ足を運びました。
鈴鹿サーキットでの観戦は、F1サーカスと呼ばれた文化を、クルマ好きが集まってのお祭り騒ぎ。
と表現すればよいのでしょうか、F1 Weekと言われた木曜日のフリー走行から、決勝まで4日間ベタに鑑賞させていただきました。
確かに予選の土曜・決勝の日曜日は、15万人と言われた観客が移動するわけですから、延々と続く人また人の列びに合わせ移動しますが、サーキット内部や、最寄り駅の近鉄白子駅などは、慣れた物で混乱と言える物もなく、決勝日の夜にテレビで放映されたのを、横浜の自宅に帰って見る事が出来ましたので、人は多かったけれども、こんな物か。が正直な感想でした。
「こんな物」ってレースの事じゃありませんよ、F1はレーシングカーの中でも別格なのでしょう、あの頃のV10やV12気筒エンジンの上げるエクゾーストノートは鳥肌物で、いまだに耳に残っています。
色々なメーカーがエンジン供給をしていましたが、とりわけフェラーリのエンジン音は聞いただけで「フェラーリ」だと分かるほど甲高く、金管楽器のような音がファンを魅了するのでしょう。
一昨年・昨年・現在
2006年でしたか、翌年のF1スケジュールが発表された時、JAPANは富士スピードウェイで開催となっていました。
かみさんの実家が御殿場市で、家の外からメインスタンドも見えるほどご近所さんでの開催です。
数年前に元の所有社だった三菱地所がサーキット閉鎖を決めた時、TOYOTAが買い取り、大々的に改修工事を行っていましたので、世界のTOYOTAが本格的に製品販売以外の自動車文化に参戦か、と思った物です。
その後Web上のニュースサイトに掲載された物に、鈴鹿サーキット側がコースマーシャルなど、F1運営で培って来たノウハウを提供し、お手伝いしましょうか。
と富士スピードウェー側に打診したが、断られたとありました。
まぁ、業界トップの企業ですから、自信も誇りもあったんでしょうが、結果は皆さんご存知のとおり。
昨日観戦に行って被害を受けたと、集団訴訟されました。
F1が開催された頃の鈴鹿サーキットも、問題が全く無かったわけではないのでしょうが、1962年に車を作り始めると発表したばかりの企業が、3年後の1964年、いきなりヨーロッパF1に参戦すると言うようなクルマ好きの企業が、祭を楽しむ人の方を向いて運営・開催されていたからこそ、今まで多くのモータースポーツファンに支持されていたのでしょう。
今回アクセスの問題で集団訴訟を起こされたわけですが、その他にもWeb上では色々と言われています。
今までヨーロッパを含むF1観戦する人たちは、サッカー観戦のように応援するチームやドライバーの旗やバナーなど、スタンドの手すりなどに結び、祭を盛り上げていましたが、昨年はサーキット側の管理上の問題からなのか、旗やバナーの掲載を禁止しました。
ところが親会社のTOYOTAチーム1チームだけ、大きな旗を掲げていてこれも大ブーイング。
一つの企業は新聞の社会面に集団訴訟されたとニュースになり、もう一つの企業は経済面に新型燃料電池車「FCXクラリティ」のラインオフがニュースになっていたことを見て、企業は自社の都合で物事を判断せず、ユーザーの気持を汲む努力をしないと、広報やCSRと言った活動で企業イメージの向上を狙っても、どこかに落とし穴が潜んでいると。
「他人のふり見て我が身をなおせ」昔の人はよく言った物です。
