先日、企業向けコンサルティングを生業とする会社の社長が、企業の中での“人の使い方・生かし方”などをテーマとした、セミナーがあったので参加してきました。
ざっとその企業を紹介しますと、東証一部上場・資本金100億円以上・従業員数：連結で1000人以上。と言った堂々とした会社で、セミナー自体とても為になるお話を伺ってきました。
セミナーですからそのレジュメや主催会社のやっている事業のリーフレットなど配布されました、色々な企業に対し事業のノウハウを提案する仕事なのでしょうが、仕事の効率を考えた末に大事な物が置き去りにされたと言うか、リーフレットの持つ機能である「コミュニケーション」で、あまりユーザーに理解される事を考慮していない、乱暴な話し社内用に作られたWordドキュメントに手を入れず、そのまま印刷物に加工した、コミュニケーションの配慮に欠ける物に見えました。
数年前まで、カタログやリーフレットなどは事業主から広告代理店や制作会社と言った、ビジュアルコミュニケーションにおけるプロフェッショナルの手で制作され、印刷・納品・配布されていました。
現在ではデスクトップパソコンの高性能化と、ソフトウェアの一般化、印刷業者における入稿デバイスの平易化によって、一部専門家にしか出来なかった制作作業がワープロソフトでドキュメントを作るスキルさえあれば、誰にでも可能になりました。
そう、これはハード面だけが使いやすく便利になっただけで、その制作物を見る人に理解されやすいかどうかは考えてくれません。コミュニケーションツールとは、企業が考える「目的」のための「手段」です。
見やすい、見やすくない、これはあくまで見た人の主観です。しかしこの主観のベースには、どんな物をどれだけの時間触れていたか、きれいな物、美しい物にどれだけ触れていたか、というその人の生活環境にも左右されています。
文章を書けても見やすい位置、理解しやすい順序、文字の大きさ・書体、行と行の行間など、ある程度訓練された人間が評価する必要があります。
このノウハウは一朝一夕には出来ませんし、Googleで検索しても出てくる物ではありません。しかも悪いことにこのようなコンサルティングの会社は売っている商品が形のない物ですから、非常に胡散臭い。
胡散臭い会社が胡散臭いツールを作ると言うことは、ある面モラルハザードとして成立しているから良いではないか。とも言えますが、キチンとした商品で勝負賭けていこうという企業にとって、表現の稚拙さが伝えたいイメージを180°変えてしまうこともあるのです。
その企業が作り、販売する物がその企業一社の独占商品ならば、それ自身が差別化された商品ですから、何ら問題はないのでしょうが、他社との差別化、ブランディングを考えると、ただ安いから、時間がないからと安易な方向に進のは、危険なのではないでしょうか。
